We picked 2011 Ivanhoe Place on purpose — right on the pedestrian plaza, at the gateway to Black Cat Alley, in a spot built for people to actually run into each other. Star Bar exists because we wanted a place for the whole neighborhood to celebrate birthdays, brave first dates, enjoy happy hours, let mondays get weird, or just get together for no reason at all.
Star Bar resets with every zodiac season — twelve times a year — new colors, new energy, same bar. The bartop stays constant: a glittering, nebula-poured surface that looks different depending on how the light hits it, which is more or less the whole philosophy of the place.
On any given night, expect celebration. Every day is somebody's birthday! Expect a full bar — tap beer, wine, specialty cocktails — poured by people who take the vibe as seriously as the drink. Expect DJ nights, dancing, and a rotating lineup of local artists and performers.
